Hear it, See it, Risk it: Lenten Study
A Lenten Study by Steve Cordle
Book Description
This book is not about getting whatever you want by using faith to manipulate God Rather, this book is about how we learn to trust God more deeply, and in the process receive more of what God has always intended and promised to us.
Part One of this book is drawn from Hebrews 11, which is sometimes called the Bible’s “Hall of Faith.” The writer challenges us to grow in our faith by following the examples of biblical heroes. As Hebrews 6:12 says, we are to “imitate those who through faith and patience inherit what has been promised.” This book is about how to do that.
Part Two of this book will identify common forces which weaken our faith, and provide strategies for neutralizing them. Part Three highlights the role of community in sustaining a truly saving faith.
You may not need to defeat a military army, but you might be facing a battle of another kind. You might not be seeking to raise someone from the dead physically, but what if your dead hopes and dreams could be resurrected? What if your future was shaped more by faith and less by doubt or habit? Perhaps you would like less fear and more of God’s power owing through your life. You might desire more con dence that you are forgiven and that you have eternal life. If so, this book is for you.
